I had packed so quickly last week that I completely forgot my pens. Perhaps it’s my subconscious way of making sure I go to an art supply store while I’m here. Finding an art supply store is usually one of the first things I do when I’m on a long trip overseas. In Berlin, here was one right around the corner from the office and I think I went every other night. London seems much more spread out, so my first task on Saturday was to make my way to “probably Europe’s largest fine art materials store.” I didn’t make that tag line up. Susannah, from Make or Break, and I headed up there and it was well worth it.

I expected, much like I do in grocery stores, that the brand names would be the same as those in the US. Let me tell you, that is not the case – neither in a grocery store nor in an art supply store. I happily stocked up on new paper and pen varieties that I have never seen in the States.

And it’s a good thing because the #LOGaCAT @afternoonan project is well under way. You can follow along on Instagram where I’m posting five daily or here on, HaveaGoodAfternoonan. The goal is 300 cats, but I only have 215 cats signed up, though, so if you want in on it you still have time. Here are my first six (five from now on). I decided I like them better without the @username below them, so I think I’ll do that from now on. I’m absolutely loving this project so far, and it’s going to be a great effort in doodling for fun.
