The months since I wrote my “33 things to do in the 33rd year” post, were some of my hardest in recent memory, so it’s come as quite a surprise to look back at that list and see that there are a number I can cross out as done. It’s a good thing to not have to try sometimes to achieve what we want. Of course, there are a lot to go still, but I’m surprised I did any of them. I guess we are halfway through the year – better get a move on!

33 things to do in the 33rd year:

1. Fill up a sketchbook

2. Visit 3 NY museums that I haven’t been to (are there even 3 I haven’t)

3. Take a cooking class

4. Go to the Grand Canyon

5. Run a 5K

6. Run the loop at Prospect Park on a Saturday

7. Have a picnic in Prospect Park

8. Take the tram to Roosevelt Island

9. Ride my bike to work (for a whole week)

10. See two plays (halfway there)

11. Throw a pot luck party

12. Read 3 novels and 3 non-fiction books

13. Bind one book with content

14. Repot my cacti collection

15. Do three Saturday hikes outside of the city (take photographic proof)

16. Ice skate at Rockefeller Center

17. See the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center (Winter 2013)

18. Bake muffins

19. Have my cousins over at least once

20. Go the year without buying a piece of furniture

21. Get rid of unnecessary apartment clutter (more to do still but some)

22. Learn how to have staples in the kitchen

23. Get more familiar with using Photoshop to color illustrations

24. Meditate

25. Try out a video yoga routine (bought the tape)

26. Go to Etsy Yoga at least once

27. Learn to crochet and make a scarf

28. Wear makeup more often

29. Write one short story

30. Update this blog more often with more than just pictures

31. Get sewing machine fixed

32. Try out a new restaurant in each of the following Brooklyn neighborhoods: Ft. Greene, Boerum Hill, Carroll Gardens, Park Slope, Redhook

33. Take more long walks to nowhere
